“We are challenged to rise above the narrow confines of our individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”– Martin Luther King Jr.

Let us rise beyond the belief of barriers formed by nationality, religion, color or culture. Let us unite as one with the purpose to love one another. Let us learn from each other, inspire each other and love each other no matter where we come from or what society may define us as. Let us leave behind the prejudices we have gathered and instead accept and welcome each other into a future of love, compassion and peace.
When we, as a collective of humans focus only on our individualistic concerns and forget about the realities of the world around us, we lose touch with what is truly important about our existence on this planet. We lose touch with the realities of what we face in this day and age and instead are only moved into action if something directly affects us.
It is our duty, as inhabitants of this world, to help make the world a better place during our lifetime. When we leave this earth we should be happy to know that the vibration of the planet was raised because of your presence. We should concern ourselves with what is happening not only around us, but also around the world. We should look beyond the borders which separate us from one another, to see the truth that our differences unite us, not separate us.
We should look out for our brothers and sisters around the world, especially in times of need. We should lend a helping hand wherever we can and look out for our fellow neighbors across the globe. What people don’t realize is that deep down, all of us, are connected. We are connected by compassion, we are connected by the achievement of peace and most importantly we are connected by love.
We should not lose touch with what the word ‘humanity’ means; that we are a collective of humans, united together. This is what we should always keep in mind. All people around the world are connected by this far-reaching concept of a higher understanding of what it means to be human. Humanity means that we are connected regardless of the borders and prejudices that try to divide us. We are connected, truly, sincerely and deeply connected by the true message of what it means to be human.
